I'm Emily Rose Asher, the owner and designer behind Emily Rose Ink. I'm an artist and a writer at heart, a former high school English teacher-turned-artist, stationer, and calligrapher. Most days, I can be found happily holed up at my in-home studio, with my dog Phoebe curled at my feet. We live in Chicago with my fiance, Scott, and his dog, Max. The love, care, and creativity that guides our little family's life together is central to the mission of Emily Rose Ink.
I've always been drawn to the intersection between words and art: growing up, I used to write out my favorite song lyrics or poems in cursive, and my planners and notebooks were filled to the brim with doodles and drawings. I've kept them all, each hand-lettered piece of paper now an artful memento that tells my story. I approach my work for Emily Rose Ink in much the same way: my mission is to create wedding invitations and paper goods that will serve as meaningful keepsakes, works of art that celebrate your story as a couple.
I work primarily with watercolor and calligraphy, mediums that lend themselves well to my whimsical, romantic design aesthetic. I truly believe that wedding stationery can help imbue the entire event with the spirit of a couple's unique, personal love story.
